“I (first) heard about Lend An Ear as a result of my friendship with Dr. Kelly Spiller. My husband Mike was in the late stages of Stage 4 Lung Cancer when, during a personal visit to our home I mentioned to Dr. Spiller that his hearing had gotten worse since he had been getting chemotherapy. She explained that chemo often causes that, and that Lend An Ear could help him.
The next day Dr. Spiller came back to our home with testing equipment and provided hearing aids for him. He was confined to his bed, and was so happy to be able to hear so much more around him. He had to keep telling me not to talk so loud now that he could hear! Lend An Ear made communication so much easier in his final days.
My husband, Mike Alexander was an avid golfer, Kansas City Chiefs fan, and loved spending time with family and friends. Family was extremely important to him, especially his favorite role as Papa. He retired early from his career as a computer programmer and we enjoyed traveling in our RV every chance we got. Mike was 65 years old when he was diagnosed with Stage 4 Lung Cancer in January, 2018 and died at home on June 6 of that same year. Dr. Spiller was so knowledgeable and compassionate, and went beyond our friendship to providing care to make our last days together easier.”

We had the pleasure of traveling to Appleton City, MO to work with Miss Virginia. She was fit by one of our many experienced Audiologists, Dr. Danielle Barton, and Virginia is extremely excited to be able to communicate better with her caring daughter Pam, and her nurses.
